Sun Yat-sen University Develops "Seawater Hydrogen Production Prototype" Poised for Mass Production of Hydrogen Energy
A research team led by Professor Chen Junhu, a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Sun Yat-sen University, has developed an "alkaline seawater electrolysis hydrogen production prototype." The prototype measures 70 cm in length, 60 cm in width, and 74 cm in height. It is equipped with multiple water electrolysis units, capable of electrolyzing both seawater and general water bodies for hydrogen production. The maximum hydrogen output exceeds that of laboratory-grade units by over a hundredfold, and its operational power surpasses the kilowatt-level threshold required for commercial applications. Additionally, it features a wireless remote-control human-machine interface, confirming the feasibility of large-scale hydrogen production.
