China's First Type IV Cylinder Hydrogen Tank Container Successfully Rolls Off Production Line

Recently, a domestic joint venture announced the successful production of China's first 20-foot Type IV cylinder hydrogen tank container, filling a technological gap in this field and marking a new milestone in the localization of high-pressure hydrogen storage and transportation equipment. This lays a solid foundation for domestically produced hydrogen energy equipment to participate in global competition.

This 20-foot Type IV cylinder hydrogen container is a benchmark product of the joint venture, integrating global technological resources with local manufacturing advantages. It adopts a Type IV all-composite material cylinder design, constructing a new load-bearing system of "non-metallic inner liner + composite material layer." While achieving extreme lightweighting, it significantly improves pressure resistance and structural stability, with a working pressure of 38MPa. A standard 40-foot container can hold over 1 ton of hydrogen, achieving a dual improvement in hydrogen storage capacity and transportation efficiency compared to traditional transportation methods.

This equipment strictly adheres to relevant international core standards and can be flexibly adapted to multimodal transport scenarios such as road, rail, inland waterway, and sea transport, meeting the commercial application needs for medium- and long-distance, high-volume hydrogen consumption. Its modular design supports various specifications and combinations, enabling optimization of the entire lifecycle cost based on customer needs, and providing efficient, safe, and economical storage and transportation solutions for the global hydrogen energy industry chain.
