The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is being held in Dubai, UAE, CCTV Finance reported. The reporter learned from the Chinese delegation that China will, together with oil-producing countries in the Middle East, further develop practical cooperation in green hydrogen, green ammonia and green methanol. And in Dubai, UAE, Chinese companies have helped local oil companies transform and build the first hydrogen refueling station.

The first hydrogen refueling station in Dubai, UAE, was also put into operation during this climate conference. Its most important feature is the upstream hydrogen source, which comes from green hydrogen produced by photovoltaics, and it also realizes the first application of green hydrogen in Dubai's transportation sector.

The hydrogen used in this station comes from the green hydrogen produced by electrolyzing water in a local photovoltaic project in Dubai, and the water used comes from desalination. The entire hydrogen refueling station is constructed by a Chinese company, and the key hydrogen refueling equipment also comes from China.

Zhou Yuxuan, director of a Chinese hydrogen energy equipment company: The total investment of the project is more than 100 million yuan, and renewable energy through green hydrogen as an important way of energy storage and consumption, so this will be the direction of the Middle East and even the global energy transition.

This year, large oil companies in the Middle East have also taken hydrogen energy as an investment priority and transformation direction, increasing investment in the hydrogen energy sector, while extending to the chemical sector to produce green methanol and green ammonia.
